How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do you make them perfectly? I have tried many different recipes and methods, but none of them work. Today, I'd like to share some tips with you in order to make delicious and fluffy omelets every day.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This makes your omelets look weirdly colored. It is best to use room-temperature eggs if you are going to cook them right away.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

If you add the egg directly onto the stovetop, you might end up burning the bottom part of the egg, which would ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Next, let us talk about how to mix the eggs. Mixing eggs together is important. You need to beat them well. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Now shake the bowl vigorously. This way, the air inside the bowl gets whipped around and mixes the egg thoroughly.

Now comes the fun part - pouring the milk into the mixture. Mix half of the milk with the eggs. Then fold the eggs in half into the remaining milk. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After you have folded the eggs, heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil has started to sizzle, turn the heat down to low. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. Open the lid and sprinkle salt on the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Once the omelet has formed, cover the pan again and wait for the top side to set completely. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the opposite side for another minute. Remove the omelet from the pan and serve immediately.

This recipe works best when you use whole milk.
